Road to Revenge

8/5/21 Road to Revenge is one of my earliest stories, and it's also one of my very few contemporary books. Back when I was originally writing it, I had just finished living in Israel for a year. I was lucky that I hadn't experienced anything like what I put Rafi and Mihi through in their first book, but I based most of their plot lines on real events from stories I had heard and the emotions of the people I was around that entire year. Road to Revenge is a crime thriller, a detective novel, and a love story all intertwined together, and is one of the books I'm most proud of having written. Road to Revenge comes out on August 9th at most major retailers, but you can get your e-copy tomorrow if you preorder with NSP.

The past few months have been crazy with book releases. One after another, until I could barely keep up with my promotional posts. I finally have a bit of a break, so instead I want to let you know about everything else I've been working on. Editing: I can't believe how much editing I've gotten done. We're well past the halfway mark for getting all my books re-released, and we're also finally getting to some of my older stories. As you saw last month, Finding the Wolf, my OG book, was re-released. We've also started working on the edits for Breaking the Shackles, book two in The Dragon's Hoard series. One of my other early series, Road To, is also in the editing process. Road to Revenge is almost ready for a July release and I expect to start working on the second book's edits soon as well. Don't worry, my editor and I have been working on some of my newer stuff too. We've made a lot of progress editing Ground of Insurrection, so that will be ready for release in August. That also means the book I know a lot of you have been waiting for, Ground of Resurrection, has also started the editing process. I am almost done with the first round! (For those of you who remember, Resurrection was supposed to come out the day before LT3 closed, so readers have been forced to wait an extra two years to get their copy.) Writing: I'm still writing, but not the books I need to be focusing on. I have finally come up with a series title for the circle stories I've been working on. I'm going to be blatant and call it the Witch's Circle Series. I submitted Book One, which I've decided to title Coven, to NSP. I hope to hear yea or nay soon. Book Two, which I've tentatively titled Hunter, still needs to be edited one last time, but it's close to being complete. I was working on what I thought was the epilogue for Book Three, tentatively titled Witch or Wolf (I haven't decided which yet), but it's gotten so long I think I'm going to make it another chapter instead. This means I still have to finish the final chapter and write the epilogue, but the story is turning out really good, so I'm excited to be finished with the trilogy. Similarly to many of you, I love rewritten fairy tales. (Hence why A Little Fairy Dust exists.) I recently came up with an idea for two more stories, and have decided to therefore start a brand new anthology. The first story is a Beauty and the Beast rewrite set in the same world as Red Apple Witch. I have the basic idea fleshed out, but I haven't figured out the villain yet so this story is still in the planning stages. The other will be the title novel for the anthology, called Shiver and Quiver, My Little Tree. Although I wrote a number of Cinderella stories in Fairy Dust, they were all based on Perrault's version of the story. This one will be loosely based on The Brothers Grimm version instead. I'm a third of the way through and loving it so far. That said, A Little Fairy Dust took me five years to write and two of the stories were reprints. It will definitely be a while until you see the final product. What about Dragon Spy, you ask? I haven't written anything more just yet, but it is definitely next on my to-do list. Hopefully I'll get to it soon! 4/25/21
It's been a while since I've written a blog post that wasn't just to promote an upcoming release. The last few weeks have been focused exclusively on If A Butterfly Don't Fly and on Wounded Alpha. Now that those two books are out (and readers are loving them!), I can return to telling you about edits and about writing. My editor and I are really chugging along! Over the last few weeks we've completed the first round of edits for Road to Revenge, my contemporary crime thriller. Road to Revenge is one of my earliest books, but I am really enjoying the opportunity to shine it up for everyone. I don't write contemporary often, but this particular series is definitely one of my faves. Road to Revenge is slated to come out this June! We have also started the first round of edits for Elemental Ride, my quirky urban fantasy short story about a guy, his bike, and his rather unusual mailman. Elemental Ride is scheduled to re-release this July. We're also still making a ton of progress on the rest of books coming out in the next few months. We completed the second round of edits for Finding the Wolf, and both The Coup and the Prince and Justified are completely ready to go. In fact, Justified is available for pre-order at NSP right now. If you buy through NSP, you'll get your e-copy three days earlier than the May 3rd release date. I have also somehow fit a lot of writing into my schedule. The third (and right now final) book in my Witch's Circle stories is almost done. I am currently setting up the final battle, and once that's written all that's left is to wrap up the book. I admit I'm a bit surprised at how smoothly this series has gone, but I'm very hopeful as soon as I get it completely written I'll be able to focus on some of the books patiently waiting on my to-do list. 8/26/20
I have tentative dates for when more of my books are going to come out! They are subject to change (they've already been changed once already), so don't go setting them into stone. I can almost guarantee the dates for the releases in 2022 will very likely be changed as more of my submitted manuscripts are accepted and woven into the release schedule. Still, it's good to know in terms of planning ahead, so I'm sharing them with you now:
As you can see, it's going to be very busy. There's a lot to do in a short time frame, but I'm looking forward to getting all my books re-released for you. In case you were wondering, the brand new, never before published books, are in bold. Fingers crossed I can finish another book and add some more bold lines for 2022! I'm also being lazy and not putting links for more information into this post. Instead, please go here where I've been adding the links as I get them. I will definitely keep you in the loop as these dates come closer, and if any dates are changed, I'll let you know that too. The next few years are going to be a wild ride, but it's so nice to see so much progress already being made! 7/7/20
Dragon Dilemma is available for preorder at NSP. It comes out on July 20th, but if you buy from NSP you can get it three days earlier! (FYI, if you already own Dragon Dilemma, not much has changed in this re-release.) I have also seen the first draft of the new cover and it's as amazing as the rest of the series. I can't wait to share it too. Road to Revenge and Road to Home were both accepted for publishing at NSP! I very rarely write contemporary, but I loved writing both of these spy stories. In fact, prior to my writing Magnified, I think this series was my favorite. I don't know when they'll reach edits, but it should be a fun process when they do! For now, you can check out the series on my website and I'll let you know when they start to move towards publishing. I successfully closed on my house, so now I need to focus on getting packed and getting moved. As I write this, a child is screeching in the hallway and someone is blasting music from their car in the parking lot. I cannot get away from this apartment fast enough and am looking forward to having my own, quiet place to finally get some writing done! 2/23/20
It's been a very long February for me. Some unhappy family issues pulled me away from writing for about two weeks, and I'm only now caught up. That said, a lot has happened recently that I want to fill you in on, so I'm going to write another long post full of fun information. Read on: Submissions to NineStar Press:
That's it for news for February. I know there's a lot going on, and it's probably going to continue being a fire hose deluge of things to do until at least this time next year. I'm enjoying it, though, and I'm so glad you're all sticking through it all with me as we all patiently wait for all my books to become available again. 1/31/20
I can't tell you how many blog posts I've written this month where, just before I was ready to post, I got more news and had to rewrite. I think this is my third or fourth attempt to get out a blog post, but there's so much to tell you I'm just going to post what I have, and I may end up writing another blog post tomorrow. Either way, this post is really long, but I promise there's exciting stuff inside. Read on: Submissions to NineStar Press:

I hope everyone had a very happy new year! I couch surfed and watched the ball drop, which was fun for me. I keep writing 19 rather than 20 for the year, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. On to book news: Ge-Mi: Nevada has been sent to a cover artist. NineStar doesn't work with an illustrator. What that means is they can't keep the original cover because they don't have someone that can continue with the same style cover for the next books in the series. Ge-Mi will therefore be getting a fresh new look. I have to admit I'm bummed. I designed the original cover myself and had grand plans for the rest of the series. I was really looking forward to seeing how the artist brought my characters to life in the next covers. That won't happen now. That said, there are definitely benefits to the new cover. The new cover might actually be safe for work, which means you can read it in public, and won't be as confusing for readers that saw a naked man on the cover and immediately thought erotica rather than romance. I can't wait to see what the new cover looks like, and as soon as I have a final copy I'll be sure to share it with you all. I haven't gotten any new edits yet, but I'm expecting them any day. I also haven't heard yay or nay from NSP regarding my Wizard Wars series. There's still a few more weeks left before their timeline ends, so I'm trying to be patient as I wait. Since patience is hard, and since I know a bunch of you were excited when I originally announced Wounded Alpha, I decided to go ahead and finish shining that story up. I have just submitted it to NSP. It fits within a theme they put out an internal call for, so I'm hopeful I'll hear before the 16 week timeline. Wish me luck! And now I have to decide what story or series I want to fix up and submit to NSP next. Since I just submitted yet another fantasy/paranormal story, I'm wondering if this might be a good time to slide my lone contemporary series across their doorstep. Road To is my modern day spy thriller, but it's also one of my oldest series. I'm honestly not certain NSP would be interested, but I do think it's worth a try. What do you guys think? |
